Do I need a power amp for the IEM system. I will use these for vocals only. I know I need the transmitter and the receiver. But I do not know if you need an external power source. If I do what would be a good amp to power a IEM system.

No, you don't need a power amp. The IEM will come with the ear pieces, a little reciever that has a tiny amp in it and a transmitter, that's all you need. I have the Shure ones and they sound great. One word of advice that you will definitely hear here is, make sure you get ones with a built in limiter, that way , if some one drops the mic to the ground or the bass drum is super loud or anything like that, you won't go deaf. Good luck and hit me up with any other questions you might have.
