I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death... But FWIW, just another endorsement for the SX. I've had a fretless P-bass copy lying around for a few years as a backup--I've only used it a couple of times when I didn't want to haul my upright, and I never really paid much attention to it: after setting it up, it was functional and that was that. I recently acquired a MIM Jazz, and a Carvin B4F, and have opportunity to compare them. Not only is the SX a functional player, but it sounds pretty damn good. Even through a shotty amp, it growls very nicely--especially on the low end. I paid something on the order of $109.00 for this--it being the cheapest of the line at the time. Amazing what a C-note will get you these days.
