Another bassist at the rehearsal hall tonight came in to check us out. We did our most urgent and rock-hard-est song. He came up to inquire about my rig, and couldn't believe I was getting all that tone and fullness out of a Mesa 2x12 bass cab. Of course, the M-Pulse Venture head had a huge contribution to this killer sound. And lest we not forget the PRS Bass. It took me, a long time tubeaholic, some persuading to stray from my usual ever-faithfull all-tube religion (Sunn 300T/Buster 200) Now, brothers, I have converted to the Holy Mesa Venture and proclaiming my allegiance and total musical devotion to the Church of 2x12. Something about this cab, the way it articulates everything, especially in the midrange, yet is deep, bright, and punchy too. I can hear and feel everything to the max now. I'm selling off the 4x10's as soon as possible. Probably will just get another matching 2x12 too. Why not? All good things come in pairs. Amen.
I'm giggin' with, and diggin' on a recently acquired pair of Powerhouse 2x12's! They took the place of a pair of Acme B2's, and I'm a happy camper!
