i'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, so my apologies if it isn't. please do not flame me for what i'm about to ask. first let me say that i really like my bass, the feel & the shape are just right. while i'm somewhat content with the sound, i keep thinking that it could be better, maybe just hotter. for what it's worth, my bass is an Ibanez SR885 [i know how some of you feel about ibanez, but please, spare me]. i like having the sweepable mids in addition to the normal controls [ie; vol, blend, bass & treble], don't want to lose that option. anyone have a suggestion? what would fit in the existing cavities without mods? thanks.

  3. Replace the onboard preamp with a sweepable mids control. EMG offers preamps with sweepable mids, plus they can come in various configurations to accomodate your bass. They should have something to fit your bass.
