Seems like more and more spam is getting through my mail filters. Mostly because of various mis-spelt words like "opurtunity", "lose weight", "freee" etc.

Are these vermin wising up to spam filters or is it possible they are dropping even lower in IQ?

I know how you feel. (Someone happened to report the same post in Amps to me 22 times... ) Emails that start info@blahblah are the bane of my life.

One thing I've noticed is that since I started being more active on musician forums, the sort of spam I've been getting has become more specific - in amongst the weight loss and Japanese schoolgirls who want to meet me, I've had all sorts of offers from video producers and 'talent' companies...

Ive been getting upwards of 50 e-mails a day, its friggin driving me nuts.

I mean, why do all of these girls want to meet ME?!?! Im sooooo lucky. And then there are these people who want to help me with my credit card problems, to get into college, and to help me loose wieght. How lucky can one guys get?

I could send you guys some of them if ya want. Its ok though, I understand that a lot of you cant handle the large amount of gratitude.
  4. I get about 25 a day. Its amazing i can have my breasts enlarged... but the best one i recieved was "have your colon cleaned by our trained specialists"

    LMAO.... it's hammer time.

I get about 50 spams a day myself. I delete them so fast, I'm sure I've missed a few real ones too

I don't get that many, one or two a week on average. Most weeks I get none. I've had the addy for two years now, it's a Hotmail one!

I have no idea why I get so few. But I like it. :D
  9. My hotmail account ain't too bad - it gets a few mails offering to show me celebs getting caught doing things that people do in the privacy of their own bedroom!!!!

Recently I've had one a few times offering to sell me a diploma, degree, PHD etc.!!!!
  10. I have two hotmail accounts. In one I get about 5 dodgy emails a day and in the other i've had about 2 in the last year.
    it doesnt make sense
  11. I wish " president " Bush would stop harassing Mr. Saddam Hussein, and start working on the war against spam.

that would have a lot more sense.

The one that always piques my interest is "increase your ejaculation by 621%." Who in god's name would even want that??
  14. I have 2 hotmail accounts and 1 yahoo account. One hotmail account gets about 50 spams a day, spread pretty evenly between junk mail and inbox, my other hotmail has started getting a few spams a week, and my yahoo never gets spammed. I don't get it.

I like the ones that are apparently from my own e-mail address.
  15. hmm.. i always get ads from ppl that say they can increase my website's visitor-count... :p

Yeah...by spamming the rest of us!
  17. I've been getting about 20 spams a day - sometimes more and most of them are that weight loss nonsense, but, lately I've been getting all these porno offers, and this is getting me really heated. I'm behind a firewall at work, and we have the latest in everything and still this crap gets through.

The only ones that are funny, though still annoying are the ones from these supposed people who are connected to Governments in African countries like Chad and Gabon. Have you gotten any of these?

They say that they're with the Government of such and such country, and due to instability in their Administration, they'd like to know if they can deposit something like $14 million dollars in my checking account "Just until the situation in their Country stabilizes," and that for my trouble, they'll give me a quarter of a million bucks when everything calms down and they withdraw the loot.

I'm serious. Now, I delete *EVERYTHING* I get from anyone I don't recognize right away.

Spammers deserve the warm and friendly persuasion of medieval torture to make them stop.

I find the best method is to have 2 e-mail accounts. One account that you use for your friends, aquitances, business ect. and another that you use when you sign up for things on the net. That way, all the spam goes to the 2nd account, where you might occasionally log in to delete it, while your main account just gets what you want.

Right now, my hotmail account gets about 15-35 e-mails of spam a day. I have my junk filter on, and I've completely filled up my list of blocked addresses. I'm starting to think it's about time to get a new account.
  20. I really hate spam, and I seem to get a lot, about 75-100 a day. I have my junk mail filter set on "exclusive," so all I get in my In Box is stuff from people in my addy book. But the junk mail folder gets huge if I don't get in about twice a day to clean it out.

What I hate is the one I keep getting from this guy Frank Kern. It starts of with, "Friend, I realize you don't know me, but I have some great information for you!!"

You are NOT my friend, I have hit "un-subscribe" on you SEVERAL times, now LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

    Rock on
