There's an interesting article in the current issue of Vintage
Guitar (the Slash cover) Re some hackers in Indonesia rippin'-
off credit card numbers from onliners and orderin' vintage gear.
Gruhn Guitars got burned and now the Nashville F.B.I. office is involved.
George (Gruhn) figures the problem is a lot of C.S. grads but no
legitimate jobs to be found at home.

The article listed a good link for any online dealer that suspects fraud.
I got the impression from chattin' with TB'er "Rully" that the gear
situation in Indonesia was not good. But credit card theft?
    It's probably a lot worse.
  2. i have nothing to contribute to this post, other than the fact that "Indonesian Internet Fraud" would be a great name for a band.
  3. Notduane,

This is one of the reasons my StringsForCheap.com business went out of business. I was ripped off by Indonesion orders to the tune of around $6,000. Not only was I out of the $, but I was also out of the merchandise I sent them before I started receiving the chargeback notices from my credit card merchant service. There have been other countries as well. Russia, Yugoslavia (and the states invovled with that country), people in the UK, among others. There have been certain people on this website that have given me hell for my international shipping policy after that, which was money orders only. That's why!

I didn't have the capitol to continue after such a devistating loss.

I tried the FBI, which gave me a total runaround, and said they could not help me (what a crock).

I haven't gone to your link as I write this post, but certainly will give it a try.
