inear user needs help! (ear pain from chord pulling)

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by soundoholic, Jun 15, 2005.

  1. Every night before a show I have to tape the chord from the buds of my inears to my back so that it doesn't pull on my ears. If this tape falls off I begin to feel a huge amount of pain from the chord being pulled down and thus pulling on the inside of my ears! So does anyone know of a product that could solve this? some type of clip that attaches to your in ears and your shirt? if not I'm going to try make something.

My Etymotics come with a clip. If they didn't I'd have probably rigged something up with a clothespin (painted black) or a safety pin by now. I can't imagine tape working out well.

Shure does sell a cheap clip, but to tell you the truth, it isn't very good. Best option, forego vanity, and put the IEM's in last. Strap goes under wire so it won't pull on cable. With this method the cord will show. Some feel it cheapens their look. I say screw it, they are comfortable like this. If someone doesn't like the look of the cable, too bad!
