Found this on my local Craigslist. EST BLUE BASS The headstock makes no sense to me. They use a mahogany stringer in the maple(?) neck in order to mount the machine heads in the wrong orientation, meaning you won't be able to put it in a regular hard case. String break angle would be quite inconsistent. The body has an odd 3D carving, with the upper outline reminiscent of a Wishbass Fantasy, but then the horns are short and stubby. The upper horn is shorter that the lower, kind of like a Mosrite. There is no roundover on any of the body edges, making me think this will be uncomfortable. I can't find any information on the builder on the Web. Anyone else ever encountered such a monstrosity?
There's actually a thread started just yesterday about that exact same one: EST Basses? (weird headstock)
Hideous AND impractical. Quite a combo there. Exactly the sort of bass I'd expect to find in a pawnshop in Watsonville. I do miss living up there.
