there is a used one at a guitar center by me. I played with it a little bit. Biggest problem was the string spacing. It feels like they threw a fifth string on a four string neck,. this particular bas had bad strings on it, so I am going attribute most of the muddiness to the strings, but I am not sure that it can all be blamed on the strings.

Narrow string spacing, and very neck heavy on a strap.
  5. Had one (LP Special 5 string) for a couple of years. I like tight string spacing, so that part was fine. Some people could consider the neck to be "chunky" but it was OK for me.

    Looked good
Good tone, even on low B
    Good sustain
    Thunderbird pickups, Bart preamp

    Unbalanced (neck dive galore)
Battery in electronics cavity--had to unscrew 4 screws and take plate off to change the battery
Not a lot of tonal variety
    A tad noisy
