Since I still have another 2 months of summer vacation, I decided to set myself up with a little project of making a ramp for my Cort 5 string that I love dearly. I have determined that the fingerboard radius is 16 inches. I am thinking of inlaying the ramp with a shape of a blue rose and a little bit of the stem, maybe even a leaf. This is my first time inlaying anything, and I would like to ask, are there any things I should watch out for? I found a store in UK that sells some inlaying material made of rocks or something, so I've got the color blue covered... took me a while to find that color. Also, I plan on coating the finished ramp with some clear satin or gloss... not sure yet. thanks!
