I saw this on ebay and it looks like a decent bass, very neat craftmanship, and does not look cheap. Anybody know anything about this bass? http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1480214617
I read an article about Nathan East and his brother, James. James mentions his main bass is one of those Innerwood 5's (how bad could that be, right?) All he says about is, "It's a bolt-on like a Sadowsky or a Fender." He can't be equating the Innerwood with both, because I would think he would know a Fender sure ain't no Sad. James and his Innerwood -
Just to comment on its looks, it looks as if he(or she, or the company) tried to make the bridge section of the body like a Carl Thompson.
I saw an asian guy in a music store playing one of these. It was hot! Playing through a low end amp it was a very buttery4string.
I saw James East locally with his Innerwood 5 - VERY Sadowsky-ish in look and tone. More modern sounding than my Alleva Coppolo - all in all...VERY NICE. For reference, he was playing in a "smurf jazz" (smooth jazz - I can't take more than a couple hours of it at a time) band through a Eden 2x10 combo. He and the bass sounded great! Dan K.
I had an Innerwood 5, years ago, recorded with it and played quite a lot. It was heavy. The main thing I remember about it was when you played it without amplification, the tone was still impressive. You know when you plugged it in it would sound great. Used it on this album: http://www.amazon.com/Light-Me-Up-Tom-Patitucci/dp/B000UFWQCA Yes Tom Patitucci is John's brother.
Looks like a Japanese boutique builder. Here's a website: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~b-iwbass/top.htm
