I plugged a 1/4" cable into the input of my amp and in my wild stage moves i accidentally pulled it out violently. When I tried to plug it back in, I noticed that the very tip of it (above the ring) had come off and is now wedged in my amp. I can't get it out. do I have to replace the entire input connector? can this cause any permanent damage?
Please help. I think it's causing the power amp to short out.

That or get a longer lead so you have more slack.

  5. does the input not work with the little thingy jammed in there, or can you still use a different cord?

  6. if you can get the cover off of the amp, then you may just be able to pop it out with a pen or some other pokey thing...

    did that help at all?

Hey there...no need to get personal and be a jerk.

My name happens to be a nickname from when i was a kid. I used to take my sisters shoehorn and stick it in my toughskins denim pants and pretend i had an erection. You know how little boys are about dressing up in womens clothes and walking around in high-hells. I know all 5 of my sons did that kind of stuff for about a 2 year span.

look, I don't want to talk bad about your kids. this forum has nothing to do with kids. except the kiddie porn page. shoe horn erection? you make me wanna puke in my shirt.
I guess as a child I did weird things too. I'm no one to judge. I used to take my sisters blankey and where it like a dress. and I always pretended I was the girl who never wore any underwear. then I'd ride a coarse broomstick for hours.
so what kind of bass do you play?

i think my nickname is cute - Fingercuffs. Whats your name all about?
And all my boys all play bass too.

By the way you should ask about bass questions in the basses forum area. This area is for amp discussion only.

you are right. denimhorn is ok with me.

I took someones advice and opened up the top. I got the plug tip out with a hanger and it was all good. now I have another problem. this has happened every time I've opened up an amp...
When I go to put it back together, I always have one screw I can't get back in. so I end up with three screws in the top instead of four. That's why I was looking for alternatives to opening it up. oh well. I can live with it. unless someone has a solution??? I just can't seem to get the top to line up....

if the hole isnt too far out of place you may be able to drill another hole, or you might be able to put it back in place with a LITLLE bit of PVA (white) glue.

    anyone else?

Don't tighten each screw until they are all started. It's easier to line up the holes if you don't have all the other screws impeding your progress.
