On my Fender Aerodyne Jazz I'll get a loud crackling noise whenever the cable moves at all. I've noticed that the cable will lock into the jack, but will slide out a little bit when I take the pressure off it.

Any ideas on the problem/How I could go about fixing it?

Check the nut on the jack, retighten if necessary. You also can bend the tip tang, toward the center to give a little more tension on the cable jack when inserted.
  3. You could just get a new jack, its not like they're expensive

I keep having problems with mine. I'm taking it to the local shop back home and I'll screw with it for a while.

How easy is it to take the old one out and install a new one?

Earthday, its extremely easy as long as you know how to solder. And shouldnt take longer than 10-15 minutes.
