I have an older Ampeg SVT-II head with no input pad or gain control that I play an active stingray bass through. The signal from the stingray is so hot that it distorts the preamp stage with the amp's volume at low settings.

Is there a way I can either mod my bass or mod the amp to make the signal to the preamp less hot? Can I buy some type of pad or atteunator or something to plug into to lower the gain of my signal? I've been turning the volume knob on the bass way down but Im looking for a better way.

By the way, this amp is ****ing incredible sounding and it gives me the chills when I play through it. I recommend getting one immediately if you have the means it is like god's own thunder

Turn the volume on your bass down. :)

Wow, my reading skills are terrible. :meh:

That's probably your best solution though, no hassle and costs nothing.
