Inside Nordstrand Big Splits

    I can't find the thread talking about Big Splits. There was a drawing of the a 5-string Split's insides, showing the smaller side to have three pole pieces to each string. I found an unboxing on YouTube. Both sides have two PPs to each string.

    I believe you are talking about the "Big Break" pickups, which are pickups that Nordstrand designed for some recent Ibanez instruments only. Big Splits have always had two poles per string (there is even a picture of the innards on the Nordstrand page for the Big-Split).
