I wish I could just brake down and buy a P bass delux but I cant. Has any body ever put a bridge pickup on a standard P-bass? Maybey even a J pickup. Is it too much of a mod? If so I will just wait and save some money. If this is feasable what would you recomend?

  2. It certainly is feasible. I've never heard of putting a humbucker on a P but I'm sure it has its good points, it's worth a try. The work should be done by a luthier if you aren't confident with digging holes into your bass, but many people here have done it themselves and it doesn't end up too bad.

I know a luthier that could do it for me. I sure as hell ain't gonna do it. We shall see, maybey next time I talk to him I'll through it by him and see what he would charge.

I bet you have seen an American Delux P-bass. Its got a humbucker right from fender. I just really hate to get rid of my P-bass, but then again I don't want to make it a POS, but moding it a bunch.
