just lurking around fender japan sites & came across this.

    and this....

all for only 80,000 yen ($680.00 USD).

by the way, it's a curly maple top. it comes in red & blue also.

Found this also, not an aerodyne but it is purdy....

  2. don't Aerodynes come in P/J pickup configuration only?

nice basses, though, esp. the bottom one.

you are correct as far as I know. the retailer stated they are special runs for their shop. I didn't even notice they had 2 jazz pups. They do have that aerodyne binding around the body though.

78,960 yen (USD $669.92) + about $100ish shipping. Not real bad for something so beautiful. Block inlays, binding, matching headstock, ohhhhh.....
  7. well i think ive found a new girlfriend and her name is vintage black jazz bass
  8. wow  , thanks for another ridiculous case of GAS

hmm .. i dont think they are aerodynes.

aerodyne's standard retail model , japan domestic edition(with pickguard) go for about 46,400 yen.

what you have there, i think its a fujigen (fender-japan OEM maker)
    special run.

the fujigen special run series are made in limited quantities , about 100 each, avaliable from apollonmusic.

    characterised by

    -special tops/wood

plus, the only real way to verify if its an aerodyne is to see the side profile of the body and if it has a slight arch top body. all current models of the aerodyne are also basswood.
