Interesting Discovery-Heads Up

  1. I bought a neck for my P-Bass clone and the guy who owned it before me had sprayed the neck without masking off the fretboard so the board was covered with lacquer. How did I remove it? I used nail polish remover! You can buy it in a box with 8 little packages containing towels are similar to "Wet Wipes." I masked off the instrument and it took about 5 minutes to clean off the lacquer. I let it dry and cleaned up any places I missed, let it dry again and treated the board with lemon oil and I'm back in business. Using the packaged wipes sure beats fumbling around with a bottle. A lot of people don't know that nail polish is lacquer so this is a "heads up."
