    Not useless at all. It would work nicely in a few settings. I would chose something that goes fretless at the 7th or so though.
  6. I agree, Its not useless, I like the fretless sound in the upper registers better than in the lower. Im thinking about doing this for my future custom bass, Since fretted it would be around 32-36 frets, I fgured I'd make it half and half. Maybe fretted up to the 17th fret, than fretless to the end of the board.
