Musician's Friend Photoshopping tubes? Groove Tubes into crack?
Probably either a photoshop error when dressing the product shots, either that or they are really careless and didn't notice the mislabeling when shooting. I doubt they sell you a tube with two different identification labels like that.
Just plain tells you what you need to know about buying GT tubes
Ha! And the whole label is upside down too.
Someone's been hitting the "groovie tubes"...
Depends on what amp it goes into.
I have long had Groove Tubes label as, well not the kind of business I would do business with.
They grade their power tubes using 1 number. When I want a tube set matched I want idle current, gain and emmisions, at the least matched. You can't so that with one number.
I have been lucky enough to have enough real tubes. Made back when there was plenty of Thorium available for their manufacture. And plenty of talented people available to make them.
Thank all that's good for the Colonel!
Yeah but think about the headroom!!!
Sadly I had to blow up the image before I could see the problem!
LOL!! Man I'm not looking forward to getting old!!!
Get off my lawn.....
Yeah! Them garden Gnomes just keep invading!!!
Besides, we ain't old - we just feel old!
I can feel young......just might get slapped
I STILL get slapped!
Yep! Not looking forward to that at all.
Who am I kidding... With all this light weight equipment in the bass world I'm already like an old man. "this cab is too heavy!". "My back hurts when I play that 10 lb bass all night.". Time to buy new stuff!!
There's always a reason for gas. heavy gear, beans, Molson 50....
Age is just a number. Mine is a big one.
I've come across tubes with incorrect labels. More often than not, a tube seller will mislabel a tube to rip people off by giving them something different than what they are expecting.
Here are a couple of genuine mistakes, courtesy of Vacuum Tubes Inc.
Just so I'm not completely a moron, it's labelled as a preamp tube (12AU7) and a power tube (ECC83), right?
Ummmm................ We won't say anything, that's right, we're just going to bite our tongues!
