Intro + beginner question

Good morning everyone, thanks for accepting me here today.

I just want to introduce myself. My name is Thomas and I am a music student. I study what is called early music (mostly Renaissance music) and I play the Lute. I have been a musicians almost my entire life

I am new to the bass world and I was hoping to buy a Squire CV p bass. Could you tell me the difference between the 60s Olympic White and the 70s black?
I saw them both on Internet and one of this would be my first bass guitar.

Also... I just moved to Geneva and I was hoping you could recommend me any online course.
