This has been a happy day, indeed. My wife and I went before a judge and finalized the adoption of our son. He's 6 1/2 months old now. We were at the hospital when he was born and took custody of him two days later, when he was ready to leave the hospital. So, we feel like he's been ours the whole time, but today it became legal and official. The adoption process went really well, and parenthood is awesome. We named him Gabriel, but you can call him Gabe. Here he is!
That's a good question. For years, I said that on the day we had our first child, I was going to buy a brand new Fender Jazz bass and keep it in the case until he was ready to start playing. But, circumstances being what they were, I didn't do it. I think if he ever wants to play bass, I'm going to give him one of my treasured Reverend Rumblefish.
Is that your goatee in the picture or his mohawk? Congrats on the baby, I want one, but I'll wait a few more years.
Congrats on the new kids. You are luck. Sis-in-law and hubby tried for a long time to adopt. Finally they got two boys (3 and 4) from Magadan, Russa (Siberia). To get a new born in the states, wow, you just have no idea how lucky you are. I'm sure the kid is real lucky too.
Cool! Congratulations, Dave. In that first pic, you can tell from his expression he's a future bass player.
