I've mostly retired from the forums, so I'm not up-to-date on iOs stuff, but need your help. I have to finish writing a grant for $1000 for technology, ASAP. I'd like my middle school students to be able to score sounds and music for their interdisciplinary book report projects with use of an ipad. Help me put together a package.

What "host/DAW apps" can run on the iPad to record music and link together rhythm, keys, sound fx apps?

What drum machine style apps are available?

    Sound fx apps?

    Keys/synths?

I'm thinking something like an Ipad mini with a simple, but solid in/out interface for guitar, bass and a mic input. Line Lemur and reCHORDER for mapping out chords and progressions. Beyond that, I'm clueless. Help!

You don't want a full featured DAW. Your students will be out of school before they learn how to use Auria.

Probably want something likea Line6 Sonic port. ($199) and the Garageband app which is free. I've heard album quality demos made on this app.
