Is 4.5mm an acceptable gap between pickup and edge of route?

I'm looking at popping some Bart P2's into my new Ibanez. If I do there will be a 4.5mm (about 11/64") gap between the top and bottom of the pickup and the edge of the existing route. Do you guys think that is visually ok or will it look like a huge gap?

The side of the pickup will fit perfectly (32mm in a 33.8mm route) but the top and bottom is a 108mm pickup in a 117mm route. :help:

As long as the string spacing is fine then its all good. like adding a Jazz pickup in place of a MM, the coils fall under the right strings and hay presto, you have sound.

The bigger question is are you happy with the gap in the aesthetics department.

You can always add a pickup surround of pickguard material.
