Is Craigslist now charging Musical Instruments for sale postings?

  1. I must have missed the memo.

I just tried to cross list an item I have up on the TB classifieds here to Craigslist.

Craigslist wanted me to pay a $3 fee. I've posted a lot of items on CL, the last time back in March of this year and have never been asked to pay a fee.

What's up with that?? Anyone else seeing this as well?

If you're a non-commercial seller, are you sure that you're not misidentifying yourself as a dealer during the posting process?

Then again, it could be Nassau and/or Suffolk counties deploying a new scheme to recoup lost sales tax revenues. :smug:

  3. It could be I messed up trying to create the post. I'll try reposting again later.

  4. Sorry, most likely a 'user error' as I was able to go back in to CL and post my listing.

Quite the contrary. They encourage dealers to take out as many free ads as they want to posing as individual owners. Baltimore/DC CL "Musical Instruments By Owner" is 40% dealer spam. The individual user can flag hundreds of ads a day and the dealer just reposts them.

  6. I posted an ad for a car on CL last winter and they charged me five bucks. I sold it in four days, so I’m not complaining, but I was kind of surprised.
