I have, twice. I haven't had any problems. However, it would vary from member to member. I certainly would be more suspicious of a newbie over someone I've seen here for a few years. No offense to newbies.
I have one good experience trading basses from The Netherlands to Iceland (hey Limo)!! My Zon Sonus fretless for his Lakland 55-94. You must know I had little sleep for some nights but everything turned out great.
I've had good luck buying, and haven't heard any complaints from those I've sold to. Moved to Misc, BTW...
make sure you see clear pics of the bass. I bought a bass that had deep scratches on the back, but you would never know it from the pics. The seller said it was "light buckle rash". He was a complete liar & I got screwed. A lesson learned the hard way.
Hey, Ryser, do yourself and everyone else a favor and make your thread title clearer so people don't have to open it to know if they want to reply. You'll also get better responses, I think. I have made quite a few purchases using the TB classifieds and had a good experience. I am also very selective about the people from whom I buy. It's all about your comfort level.
I wish the TB sellers , or at least when they posted in certian fourms anyway, had a "feedback rating".
Well, some people have posted their eBay handles and feedback rating as a way to provide some sort of reference. It's not perfect and not everyone can use it but it's better than nothing.
I've had 3 expieriences buying things from TB members, all of which have been great, an Ampeg pre, a MM HD212, and a Peavey Accellerator 6. The only thing that has gone wrong is that some how UPS is taking a decade to get the money order to the guy I bought it from, other then that, the members of this site are very trust worthy, just make sure to ask lots of questions, and get detailed pics of everything. As for a newbie, how long are you considered a newbie? peace -Ben
Thanks brother I'm sorry for the sleepless nights I have to note that it was because of a postal service mess as it was my own fault, I have traded 5 times before on the internet and it has been good every time except for once when I got an info that a bass was in mint but it was actually in fair/good condition But all in all I think TB'ers are very trustworthy
Icelanders are very trustworthy, with the notable exception of those in the fish business! [ PS Limo, hvar er Mp3 emailið? ]
I've sold 3 basses and bought one and have no complaints either way. Looking at how long someone has been a member and how often they post is one of the things I look at.
