I saw an ad for some festival in WPB on tv.

In it, it touted that Tito Puente Jr. would be playing.

I'm sure that Gard plays for Tito Puente Jr. I want to know if he is playing there today.

it's kind of a moot point, being that the festival is today and that i'm probably not going anyway.

i just want to know what i missed (if anything).

Well guys, bad news...or maybe good news...

We got to the venue (Centennial Park, West Palm Beach) and it was POURING rain. We waited it out for a bit, but they finally cancelled the show as the stage cover was defective and there was water all over the place. :(

So, we didn't play, but then again you didn't miss anything. :)

I made a ~5 hour round trip, didn't even unzip a gig bag, and didn't get to play my first gig with the new rig...yet. But, I did get paid! ;)

Next gig down that way I'll be sure to give you guys a better warning. Next gig for me is here in Orlando on Thursday with a improv trio (in case anyone 'round here is interested). Also, if you're in the Orlando TV viewing area, my "main" band (Rico Monaco & Sol Suns, www.ricomonaco.com) will be on FOX 35's "Good Day Orlando", we'll be interviewed and play a short tune at about 8:30 am, and play the "outro" at the end of the show at 9 am.

i don't know why, but i actually feel really good when something like that happens! (it happened two nights in a row with one of my bands)

i think it's my life dream to get paid for doing nothing!

    BEEG WEEL -

It's different when a mod or admin deletes or closes a thread. ;)

    BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU -

Keep at it man, one day you'll graduate to being a full-on PITA! ;)

Sorry, but no re-schedule as yet. You never know, we may play down that way soon, the band's roots are right there in Port St. Lousy...er....Lucie  actually! Rico graduated from Ft. Pierce High, and most of his immedate family still lives in PSL (we refer to it as "home of the newlywed and the nearly dead" ;) ). I actually lived in Ft. Pierce (had a nasty phrase for there too: "Fart P!$$" :p)myself for almost 2 years, even taught at Russell Music on the corner of Virginia & U.S. 1. I miss some of the people, but sure as heck not the place.

We used to play at the Ashley in Stuart about once a month, but it changed ownership and format, then burned down. C'est la vie. Hey, the spring festival season is coming up, you never know we may be playing down your way, and soon...
