I got an offer to buy an old Hartke 1415 combo amp. Is it a risk to buy a combo from mid 90s? Will I have a problem with the speaker sooner because it is old or it doesnt matter if I treat it properly? By the way it sounds very good and loud (140 watts)!:bassist:

well, only you can say if it's really convenient. The speakers should be fine if they have not been abused. Same with the amp itself.

If it sounds good for your needs and the price is good, I'd say go for it.

  3. If it sits in your room and you don't need to haul it around then sure...and it has to be el cheapo.

  4. Nope, nothing wrong with it at all! If it sounds good and the price is right you have nothing to lose. I've found that with old gear like that you can usually get it at a great price and if you decide it's not for you you can always donate it to your local school district.
