every time i see a thread titled "is it just me?", regardless of the actual subject, i want to be the first to reply to the thread with "yes. yes, it IS just you". is it just me, or are you ever tempted to do the same thing?
I like seeing a thread title that tells me enough to know if I care. Otherwise I usually pass. I clicked this one because I knew it would be good because pcake
Personally I really don't like threads with teaser titles. They should be banned. Or a moderator should warn the OP to change the title of the thread within 24 hours, or it will be changed by a moderator, or the thread deleted.* Is it just me? *This thread excepted of course.
I tend to think that anyone who says “Is it just me?” already suspects that they are alone in the subsequently listed experience or belief. They are just hoping they aren’t alone, and others will chime in with confirmation and solidarity. I usually think “yes. It IS just you” but don’t say so because (a) that doesn’t help the poster, and (b) I am usually wrong, since support and confirmations continue to roll in.
thanks for the laughs, all btw, i really DID post "yes, it's just you" on a thread titled "is it just me?"
I don't create many threads, I prefer searching for the topic and maybe asking in a related topic what I need. But when I create a thread I always create the title so that it will be useful and searcheable for other users. I get the mistery titles, to attract attention, but they do nothing for the community.
When I see one I muster up a healthy serving of self righteousness, roll my eyes, then click on a different thread. This here thread being the exception for the same reason @LBS-bass listed. -Mike
Any thread with no real topic is eligible to be turned into a thread about funny cat videos. IMHO. That video is yet more evidence that cats are more entertained by the cheapest of “toys”. Try a Q-Tip.
There are many threads in TB with suspect intellectual provenance. We can play the TB IQ game, but the mods prolly won't like that.
You ever been to Reddit's "unpopular opinions" subreddit? Don't bother with Reddit especially if you haven't yet, in all sincerity, but it's basically a subforum dedicated to that sort of thread. You'll probably notice though that this sort of thread is basically the op soliciting either validation or attention. A lot of that kind of stuff gets a lot of responses though.
