is it ok to take your strings off, and them put them back on? or will it just mess them up? cuz i wanna put this stuff on my fretboard and im not gonna be changing my strings anytime soon.

    thanks

  2. Yeah, you can do it, I do it all the time when I clean them. Actually, as long as you're taking them off it'd be a good opportunity to clean them. I just stick mine in a jar of rubbing alcohol overnight.

Will that add tone back onto them also?

That's kinda the idea. I just tried it on some Fender 8250's, and it brightened them back up pretty nicely.

I've taken stings off one bass and switched them with another and never had a problem. I choose to never clean my strings anymore (at least when they're off the bass) cuz the one and only time I ever popped a string on stage it was after boiling them for about 5 minutes.

  6. I do it every time i change strings..

take all strings off, clean + oil the fingerboard, then put new strings on.

as long as you don't do it weekly it won't hurt..
