Is there an app for this? I've been searching but can't find what I need?
Ive only been able to use AmpliTube to copy a song at a time. Kinda sucky, so I'm interested in another solution as well.
In Amplitube -> Menu -> Settings -> Background Audio
It will allow you to play at the same time you're playing music
Other amp sims do the same
Or pick up "Audiobus" app, you can mix multiple sources together.
Or Jamup XT. Great app...
Using the iOS music player with amp sims generally doesn't work well from a volume standpoint. The music is too loud and commandeers the hardware volume. I would recommended Anytune, it will play directly from your song library and will either let you use an amp sim app or go through it directly. It also lets you adjust the playback volume as a global setting.
I have been using an iRig HD with my Mac for years. I use Amplitube or Garageband. I just play the song in iTunes and play over using Amplitube/Garageband and both input sources get mixed and I hear myself through headphones or computer speakers..
