is it safe?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by cobrasneverdie, Jan 4, 2004.

  1. i didn't have a guitar amp at home so i plugged my guitar into my bass rig for a little while and it sounded good. but is it safe to run my guitar through my bass rig? (randall bass 500 head and an older hartke cab) and if it is safe is it safe at high volumes?
  2. Should be fine...it'll sound like crap but it's ok as long as the impedance of the cab matches the amp.
  3. the head can run a 2ohm load im running 8ohms. can i use a distortion pedal too?

    No problem.
  5. Omar Rodriguez of the Mars Volta used to play (guitar) through a bass amp, maybe he still does.. Seems to work for him, at least ;)

You can always crank a guitar through a bass rig...

You CAN crank a bass through a guitar rig... its just not reccomended.

Acoustic/Electric through my PeaveyTNT... my dear lord It sounds amazing. When not using distortion, nothing sounds better than guitar through a 1x15... in my opinion, anyways.
  10. ill try it though my peavy when i get it back tomorow from my church.
