one of my good friend wants to trade his status S-2 classic Bolt-on (Quilted maple on top, walnut and mahogany back) with my Yamaha TRB 5 PII (ovangkol top). Do you guys have any opinion about it?

he said if i want too, i have to give him more some cash,

    maybe about $300.

    I really need some opinion.

    Thank you all.

  2. That's a very interesting offer...no doubt the S-2 is a fantastically well built bass, but that Yamaha is too :) it depends on what kind of sounds your after really, and obviously when it boils down to how the S-2 feels to you. What colour is it in, out of pure curiosity?

They will be two totally different sounding basses. Ask to play it for a day or two, trade him yours for his for a day or two, and see what happens.

    Trial period, in a sense.

    thanks for all the comments.

i've finally traded my trb with s2 headless.

s2 has a smaller neck, that's the main reason.

also, i'm still finding a new sound from this bass, it has a very wide range of tone.

in my opinion, it's just worth!!!

i did not say trb is not good, i feel sorry that i have small hands :p

    thanks u all again. :D
