Is it wrong to have GAS for a bass, purely because of the fretboard inlays?

I'm worried about myself! I'm not Major Metal, but I find myself having crazy daydreams about buying one of these:

    NardelliFutura.

It's not like I really need a green Jazz Bass, but these inlays are just amazing  :

    NardelliFuturaneck.

Someone talk me out of it, quick :meh: !

In case you're wondering, the bass is from the Italian firm, Nardelli and is a "Futura" model. I've no idea if they have any distributors outside Italy, so if my wallet is really lucky, I'll never meet one face-to-face :p .

Anyway, I just wanted to share the pics with you :) .

    Those inlays ARE sweet!!!!

maybe you can get the bass in a different color???? check into it....

if there are no dealers outside of Italy - you may need to take a holiday there....always good to try a bass before you buy (see - an excuse to put it off for know, but not for ever!)

besides, Italian women and food! nothing better!

I bought my jazz because it has block inlays and a bound neck - and I wanted a passive 4 string again.

You're really not helping me here, basspraiser :p .

Actually, I did check into it, to see if they did the same bass in blue or black, with blue or black tinted inlays, but they don't :( . Most of the other versions of it have "normal" pearly-white inlays, or just white dots (on the rosewood boards).

Still, this green one is a really striking and memorable looking bass - wonder what it sounds like :D !?

It's only a conspiracy IF YOU think it is one.....we do not really exist and neither does the black helicopter over your house......this is all in your mind....when you wake up, you will forget the whole thing....:smug:

I'm afraid to go to sleep these days. I keep dreaming of waking up and walking into my living room, only to find that all of my basses have turned GREEN  !!!

I'd say yes, but those inlays are just highly polished paua (maybe you guys call it Abalone?).

I'm sure you could get the same effect with a trip down to the waterfront and a days polishing.

(and you'd get a sweet feed of paua fritters out of it too)

Spectors' inlays are some of the coolest to me because they're so distinctive:

    SpectorEuroLX5.

I love black block inlays on maple too:

There's nothing wrong with lvoing inlays. It's like loving boobies on a girl. Some guys don't like it but more for those of us who do.

  18. Could you buy inlays alone?
