Many years ago I bought a birch tree mug from up north, and have been using it ever since. Now, some girls at work really object to it, they apparently think it's disgusting, unhealthy, gross, un-hygenic, and any combination of the above. :) OK, it does have a nicely built up patina like an old tobacco pipe on the inside, and when I put some olive oil on the wood for protection the coffe gets a slightly oily surface for a while, and the top edge gets a bit black, but come on! :D

What do you say? Gross or not?

Just tell them it's better than your old coffee mug....made from the skulls of your critics.

I'm more okay with it if you take your coffee black. The idea of lots of cream and sugar soaking into the wood does raise some concerns...

    ;)

It looks good, but your description made it sound a bit vile ;)

You oughta get one of those with a fake cockroach at the bottom so you see it whn you just sip down the last of the drink - offer a cup to your collegues :D

Semihollow and figured wood. Hmmmm, throw some strings on there and you got yourself a bass (I'll leave it up to someone else to guess the company).

How about a tortoise shell coaster under your ash mug? :)
