Is the MAG300R any different from the regular 300?

I have heard it has heating problems, but other than that it gets no discussion. Any reason for it, or just encompassed in the MAG 300 discussion?

the Mag 300h is the head with the wooden case, the 300r is the one made for rackmount. Same amp, different mounting.

Yes, that is somewhat implicit, however I have heard there are minor differences. I was wondering if anyone else had heard this.

Sorry for diggin out another old thread but....
The 300R is the rackmount and the 300H has the hard case around it. I am looking at the Mag 600R but Ashdown don't seem to produce a model with any sort of case. Is it ok just to sit a rackmount version on top of your cab (an ABM 410t by the way) with nothing protecting it? Think I would prefer the look of it that way too.
