    Nothing too sharp or pointy, no super weird or extreme colors, and nothing more than 5 strings. I like to keep it fairly classy for the most part, and definitely prefer classic styling over anything to far "out there".

    EDIT: All that being said, I would take almmost any 4 or 5 string bass if it was free. No sixes though... gotta draw the line somewhere.

    and......... here's your bass

    IMG_1998.jpg

    but, I'll never sell it. Made by a Lakland employee for himself, went thru another owner, then I got her and upgraded her w/ Lakland's latest pups, CHIsonic humbuckers and the LH3 pre. :bassist:

    Here's what it's like to play her

  14. any 5+ string basses.plus i hate all untraditional basses that are really wierd looking and ugly(take warrior basses as an example).i don't know if i'd take any spectors either,i mean if i did,it would just be for the tone.but something just doesn't look right about there basses to me,and some of them are just plain ugly(the rex4/5).why am i the only one that thinks their basses look messed up???

    That's a pretty bold statement.....

    I don't think I would take one of those walmart basses for free.

  16. I may have severe trouble being seen with anything like this........

    That's NO me in the photo, by the way!
    Apologies to whoever owns this bass. I'm sure he loves it.

  17. While I prefer my pointy instruments, within what I define as reason (ha, take that logic,), and while I don't particularly care for "standard" double-cutaway styles for personal ergonomic reasons...I would continue to play any of these, if they were free, provided they did not contain the letters B,C, and Rich. With all apologies, I've never liked the necks, I've never liked the tone. Worse still, the grand majority of people whose first response to why they play one is "it looks cool" annoys and saddens me.

    That said, you put a free instrument in my hands and I'll give anything a fair chance; that particular brand is just one predisposition against it.

    {Taelyn leaves the computer for a moment to dump the Hateraide down the sink. She grabs another cup of coffee before returning.}

    As for the extended range instrument comments -- hells I would LOVE to go to town on one of those! I wasn't really expecting that as part of the question since they usually cost a fair more than your Guitar Center clones, but I would certainly take one and run if you put it in my hands.
