Is there any reason to go with these strap locks over a Schaller?

Debating which strap locks to use. I hear a lot of good things about the Schaller S locks, but a lot of people are suggesting these ones as well:

I'm probably splitting hairs here and should just pick a strap lock and use it on all my straps. Those Rok Loks look like they'd potentially scratch up the guitar. Any truth to that?

Get the Schallers. The various no hardware mod strap locks do not work as well as an actual lock setup IME. Schaller, Dunlop, and Gotoh locks have all worked great for me.

The only reason I could see is if your strap button is on the heel of the neck, Shallers tend to jab my belly, those look like they have a much lower profile. I went with the low profile Loxx system on all my guitars and basses because a few of my guitars have buttons on the heel.

I bought my first set of Schaller strap locks back in 1978…still have them, and about 5 other sets of the same.
I don't think you can go wrong with these.

I have been using the Schaller strap locks over 20 years. I have tried all the rest, but Schaller always wins.

Old school Shallers were cool, but I don't like the S-locks as they have thicker screws and tend to expand your strap button hole permanently. I would advise against them. Fender makes a strap lock that is almost identical to the old Schallers which do not do this.

Me, I just use D'Addario solutions. They have a locking strap which is cheap to buy and very good, and they have very inexpensive strap button "clips" that lock your strap into place and work just as well as anything else, with no modifications or damage to your instrument. I use those the most.

I used to have shallers. Constantly had to adjust them. I use the Fender rubber rings now. You don't really need more unless your strap's hole is worn out or you swing your bass around like Victor Wooten.

I used Schallers for many years but for whatever reason the nuts on the beltside would frequently work themselves loose, especially on thicker leather straps. I switched to Dunlop Dual Design Strap Locks on all of my basses and never looked back.

I've had a Schaller or two come apart while playing. Damn near let my Bongo 6 hit the floor. Changed to Dunlop, never a problem after that. It's all choice and what works for you.

Schaller S locks have a grub screw that stops them coming loose on the strap, and the design has a failsafe so that it wont drop the bass even if the locating pin doesnt lock in ( unlikely)

Been using Schallers for 30 years. Installed on probably close to a hundred guitars and basses. Never a problem.

I have Dunlop flush mounts on all my basses. If you play sitting down, there's no strap button to poke you. Also, in a gig bag, you don't have to worry about the strap button getting damaged if you set it down hard, or the bag being chewed up by the button.

In spite of not particularly caring for the design, I tried the very first iteration of the Schallers (way) back in the day since they were all the store had in stock at the time. Friction between the components quickly caused the "button" part of the pairing to repeatedly loosen. I've never had this happen with the Dunlops and have always thought of them as the more elegant solution.

I can tell you from experience the Fenders will ruin your day! I had a set on an Ultra Strat recently and the pull-knob unscrewed and came off and there is NO way to get it back on. This makes it impossible to get off without unscrewing the button which is almost impossible. I had several sets and replaced them all with Schallers

Make sure the pull knob is tight, I had one on my Ultra-Strat (supplied by Fender) come off in my hand when removing my strap, you can't get it back on which makes it impossible to remove at that point. I had to use needle nose and over time was able to unscrew the button. Switched to Schallers after that
