Is there such a thing?

  1. Hands down, this has to be the most beautiful CBS-era Fender Bass. Actually, there should be a law stating that,"If Millsbass5 doesn't own it, and it's a great, desirable bass, it shall not exist."
Dammit to hell, people. I swear, this thing gives my goosebumps, goosebumps! First off, I assume the color is VERY, VERY RARE. It's the first Fender that I, personally have seen donning this beautiful color.
Fender is FINALLY starting to, maybe, kinda get their heads outta their asses, when it comes to bringing back the old-school colors. But still, the majority of the time, if you want that one color that you've craved since the early 60's, you have to practically sell your soul to "Thee Ye Olde Fender Custom Shoppe."

    Here goes:

Also, it's the first bass from this era with a mother-of-toilet-seat p/guard,that I've personally seen. How rare is this color? (cough-cough, johnK_10):D

And, another thing. $3,595.00? Olivia's are notorious for their high prices. BUT, they're also maybe even more notorious for the great vintage/rare basses they offer. But,$3,595.00 for a 1980 Jazz? Geez, I still think I'd man up and pay it!

$3600 for a 1980 jazz? I know I wouldn't think twice about it that is pretty pricey, that is assuming I even like the colour. I guess it would look good with a MB backline though

That pickguard is a WD replacement. IMO it looks cool with that color, but 3.5K for a '80 Fender??

  4. Ooops. It is an aftermarket 'guard, ain't it? It's still a smokin' bass, as far as looks go. Ijust love that color. My Bic lighter is the same color! It doesn't have a p/guard tho.........

That price is a joke but the color is great. Fender Japan put out that color on their pb70 reissue. I have only come across a couple for sale over the last few years.

I have one of the Fender Japan P's in Capri Orange. Easily my favorite color.i wouldn't pay that much for an 80's Fender, but it's the best color ever.

  7. Looks like a glass of Tang. :) Pretty color though, I wouldn't pay that much for a Fender.

@ emptycell. Nice one. I snagged one in surf green and to be honest it's one of the nicest basses I have ever played.

Tang?! Now there's a blast from the past! After all, it IS what the early astronauts drank... ;)

My first thought was the orange creamsickles we used to get as kids.

  12. They still make Tang, don't they? I remember drinking that as a kid a lot. :D

FWIW, The International Color Series are pretty rare. Only made for a couple of years. I'd really love a yellow (Monaco?) to go with the Capri Orange, but I don't believe they did those in reissues.

Marty Bell can do CO refins, and you can find CO nitrocellulose lacquer on eBay.

Fender Japan still makes a Mustang bass in CO with a competition stripe.

That's the other bass I've seen that color on! It's been drivin' me crazy tryin' to think which other bass I've seen that color on.
