Is this a good choice?

I will have some extra money this summer and I'm looking at getting ride of my Ampeg V4BH and 15E cab to help fund an SWR SM-500 and Henry the 8x8 cab.
Will this give me much more volume and will it enhance my tone? Or should I consider the 750x or any other good choices?
Tubes are not a good choice for me due to replacement costs over here.

Oh, and I play a Warwick Streamer LX and I tend to lean towards rock, jazz and prog. I also dig the whole Dirk Lance and P-Nut tone, yet I do not dig those bands much.
  2. I think it would defintely give you more volume. Looks like a very good choice to me, I played the Henry the 8x8 at the music store and it was great.

Yep, i agree, very good choice. It will definitely add to the volume, but more importantly, itll add to the low end in tone. getting a bigger speaker in there for the low end will really fill out your sound, especially if your going for a lot of low end stuff (P-Nut style, im thinking like "you wouldn't believe" type sound, lotta low stuff).

    Very Good Choice.

Note: I have the most biased opinion on the planet
    regarding the rig your describing.

    I use a SWR SM400-S with a Henry 8x8 and a Warwick Streamer Pro M.

    The combination goes together.

The semi-parametric eq. brings out the best in the 8x8
    and the Warwick.

The SM500 and Henry 8x8 is a perfect match.
Like they were made for each other.

    Great tone.

Kelly at SWR used these for 10 years straight as his main rig.
    Nothing but good.

So would there be lots of headroom?
I'm looking at competiting wiht a 4x12 and Marshall JCM 800 2204 head.
This rig will cost me a fortune, so..
