I don't know much about that amp, but 138 pounds is amazingly heavy for an amp with 3 tens. Think carefully about whether you are going to want to lug that around.

  3. I have no idea if it's a good amp or not, but you should definitely seriously consider its weight. 138 pounds would not be pleasant to move around.

  4. It's funny that the first two posts, posted nearly simultaneously, are both about the weight. I think that should tell you something.

I wonder if it's a misprint. That amp isn't that big -- it doesn't seem like it should weight that much.

Do a search on that amp, a guy just bought one on here LAST WEEK... I bet you could email him and discuss what he thinks by now. He was pretty excited last week. BOB

Probably made of MDF, stuff is crazy heavy. A 4x10 made of it can break the 100lb mark. So with electronics and stuff loaded in there too, no surprise.

  7. The specs said plywood, not MDF. I guess with three tens, and a traditional transformer, it could get up there.

  8. I don't mind hauling 138 lbs. It's the 138 lbs and only bringing 3 10s that an issue for me.

Listen, you guys want to kick ass or not? 310's in a vertical stack...looks pretty heavy duty for a combo to me. Sorry, I like micro amps but I draw the line at micro cabs. The cab's got to have a little bigness. I have yet to play through it, but I haven't been intrigued by a Kustom amp since the tuck 'n' roll days, so this one I'm actually looking forward to winding out one day...if I ever see one! 135 lbs. is nothing. Yeah, I know some of you have injuries and couldn't lug it, but this is for those who can. Small price to pay for legendary status.

Weight aside, a 3x10 combo new for 500 is a good deal.

That's way too heavy for three tens, man. There are 8x10 cabs that are lighter.

It does have wheels and a push bar to help with loading. Geez, the weight obsession some people have on tb makes me chuckle.

To the OP, I haven't heard this combo, so I can't comment on the tone, but on paper, it looks like a screaming good deal.

  14. I have to give you a great big +1 !!!

Some of these guys blow my mind....I'm nearing 60 and lug a SVT4Pro in a rack with a 6X10 AND an 8X10....AND as a backup cart a Acoustic 370...

    Bunch of nancy boys.....

    C'mon guys....grow a pair!!

  15. Is it just me, or does the amp look removable? I thinks its the Kustom 1200 amp head they used in a few configurations. I think the head went for well over $500 alone. $699 I believe?

I love the sound of legendary status, especially what it does for punchy transcients in the low mids, don't you? ;) :D

Hell yeah, Jim! I just loaded up my punchy low mid transients up in the van for my gig later tonight. I feel pretty legendary right about now...yeah...gonna rock the old folks. Us and Joey Dee and my 810.

  18. I played through this amp and this is one heck of deal. I dare anyone to come up with more power (speakers included) for this price. With a few leverage tricks hauling this thing should be no problem.

  19. Mine just arrived yesterday from MF. It REALLY IS 138 lbs! Worse, I underestimated the overall size. Went to pick it up from FEDEX, took it out of the box and we couldn't get it into the car (wish someone had videoed that and posted online, it was a comical 15 minutes from my vantage point). Understand, I have packed two 2X10s and assorted other stuff into my car before, but didn't pay attention to the Kustom's dimensions. The top handle works as do the built-in wheels but, whatever, I'm typing this at home waiting for the FEDEX driver to bring it to the house. He's probably laughing his head off if he saw us in the security camera tape.
This is another case of seeing a sale and jumping on something I don't need. Oh, did I mention the "no amplified musical instruments" clause in my landlord's contract that I (in)conveniently forgot about?
This is too funny: THE TRUCK JUST PULLED UP! Gotta go!
