Well, here's the story. This guy named Carlos, his TB profile's here (he doesn't speak English that well, and he's in New York since the war, since he's a vet [or as he says...]) has a Hughes and Kettner 4x10, and he wants to trade it for one of my Fender's.

Here's some pics he sent from his camera phone:

How does this cab sound? How old is it? What model is it?

Should I go through with this deal?

It's not their current 4x10 model (which has slot ports on sides) but maybe it's an older model ... or maybe bogus.
if you don't have a bad vibe off the guy, go check it out. It should be obvious if it's legit.
If you do have a bad vibe, trust that and don't go. It doesn't sound like you're in the market for that specific cab.

It's an older model, produced in the mid-90's. I had one for a short time, and it sounded good, but I was looking for something more portable, so I didn't keep it (the HK head had a distortion issue too, IIRC). Plus, I already had a Mesa diesel 4-10, making the HK cab a little redundant.

The one I had, which looked exactly like the one in question, was a BR 410, and was rated at 300 watts/8 ohms. It's from the Basskick line, which was HK's budget line. Personally, I doubt I'd trade a Fender anything for it.

Thanks. I knew this was a fluke deal.
