I'm sorry, I'm not have that much expertise with music man basses, I've never seen the serial located in that part, and if it is... What do you think it's worth? {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
What’s it worth? this one in really good condition is listed at $675, but I’ve seen them listed for around $600 Ernie Ball Music Man USA SUB Stingray S.U.B. 2003-2006 White the one you posted is pretty worn, probably worth about $400... Either way, it’s still an authentic USA Stingray at an Indonesian SUB price.
Definitely real. I played one of them about a month ago at a friend's studio. It seemed like a decent bass, but it wasn't set up to my tastes.
I have one. Exactly like this. It's real, it's a true Musicman not a Sterling SUB. It feels, sounds, plays better than any Sterling Ray model and it's got one thing that makes it a unique Ray to any other Musicman or Sterling version. It's passive. Notice, no battery compartment. (they made some of these active, some passive). The passive version has pickups wound and configured specifically to be played passive. The passive's output is still powerful close to or equal to the active version and has that distinct punchy sound of a MM Ray with less sizzle BUT it's got a P-Bass kind of warmth to it. I actually prefer it to the active Rays, I know that's a matter of taste. I would highly recommend trying it and buying it if you like it. These American made Musicman SUBs active or passive are gems. Sure it's got the slab body, lesser finish, painted neck but the active is a true blue Musicman Ray 2 band EQ Classic at a cheaper price without sacrificing much if anything. The passive is a unique MM Ray altogether, well worth it. The horrific pickguard had to go on mine, but easily replaceable. It's the one on the left. {}
As mentioned, it's real. I have that exact same bass and a 5 string version in grey, both active. They are killer basses and a bargain to boot. They are much like having an older Stingray with the slab body and 2 band EQ, which for many is the magic recipe. {}
