I'm new to the VT bass and i realized something.

It depends. Generally, cranking the gain on any drive pedal will introduce some noise into your signal chain. It's especially bad if you are in an area that has a high amount of EMI, RFI, poor electrical wiring, or poor bass or instrument cable wiring. That being said, I don't notice too much noise when I crank my VT. Might want to check the cables you're using, check your bass wiring and shielding, and avoid florescent lights, microwaves, CRT monitors/tv's, etc.
  3. over drive= compression

any noise in your chain is going to get louder when compressed.

Hmm. Ok thanks. gonna figure out what's wrong.

If it helps. Im using a powerall to power my chain. And i don't have any compression going on before the VT.

My bass.. I think there may be some wiring faults or noise. Gotta get that checked out.
