Let's say I had an 8x10, an SWR Megoliath to be exact. And the amp looked like this setup:

    Ampeg SVP-PRO
    Compressors,etc. in between
    Carvin DCM1500
    SWR Megoliath

In that order. Now what if I later desire the tone of a 15" or 18" speaker? I know I cant hook anymore cabs up to that Carvin DCM1500 because Im already at the 4 ohm load. SO would it be possible for me to construct another amp, with just another Carvin DCM1500 and a Big Ben or a Big Bertha? Could I somehow split the signal from the Ampeg preamp for 1 side to go to the Megoliath and the other to go to the big speakers side? Would a different preamp be needed because maybe I would need 2 channels as opposed to one? Would I need a crossover somewhere in the rack? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Supposing that the DCM1500 can't go down to a 2 ohm load, you can buy another carvin poweramp and run the balanced line out from the preamp to it and then you can hook that poweramp up to Big Ben or Son of Bertha.

Yes you can, it's a stereo amp which will run at 750W per channel in 2 ohms. You shouldn't have a problem at all.

That's what i thought, i was pretty sure it was able to go down to a 2 ohm load.
