Is this the ugliest Alembic so far or is it just me?

it aint exactly 10 outta 10 in the looks department but anything has gotta be better that what i have at the moment

It´s not Alembic. It´s Bass Nw. Their pics always look ugly...

for me that's an ugly bass in both pics.

 

I don't think the burst is particularly well done; it fades to black too quickly. There's another Excel (natural flamed maple) on bassnw that looks great.

I agree with Pacman... not great, but its better then those other "things" Alembic makes...

 

I like that bass, in either of the pictures. I love sunbirst, and that one seems to catch my eye. Maybe I am just weird (or colorblind).

Looks fine to me, cosmetically. Not $2200's fine, but okay. Like Christopher mentioned, that transition from the black border to the sunburst is about as artful as a train wreck, but the flame top is nice.

Someone else may not like a sunburst where the colors gradually shift into the next, like I do. But if everyone was like me, Reverend, Vaccaro, and the like would be out of business, and they're certainly not.

I actually like that bass more than other Alembics.

ugliest Alembic IMHO has got to be the Epic- that shape- bleurgh.......

 

only 2,200 is alembic trying to move down market or something? i happen to like their triple omega body shape and some of the other things they do but an alembic with a "sunburst" (if that's what you want to call it) just doesn't seem right to me.

 

Don't really matter what it looks like to the majority...it only takes one buyer, don't it?
