I got that same message the other night when I tried the page. I guess this may be the time of night when they update the website.
Yeah, I was just in the process of ordering a P-bass body. Yesterday I had some problems with the site as well. Hope their email still works...
I liked the old site better. It was simpler to navigate when I just wanted to zip through the in stock inventory.
Sorry guys. The site is back. If you haven't checked out our in stock selection lately, please do. We've revamped the search code and added new functionality. Email and the website are on separate servers. If one goes down, chances are the other one is still up. You can always try [email protected] or you can contact me directly at [email protected] or just PM me here. I'm usually on TB once a day. Also, we have a number of website enhancements in the works as well as several new guitar and bass options coming. Best guess ETA on the bass options would be a few weeks.
is it me or has their site always been a little slow? ...just seems a bit slower than most sites I spend hours gassing on
Slow can be a matter of perspective, not to mention your connection speed, browser/OS, etc...... If it seems abnormally slow to you, would you send me your connection speed, browser/version and OS? What other sites cause you gas? It's easy enough to test page load speed. Of course, then you also have to look at page content and density.
So these new bass "options", what do they entail? What happened to the different widths for the Gecko necks?
Agreed on the site slow issues. The new layout and functionality of the site, the usage of Flash blending of photo's and such. Huge oversized logo when you inititially get to the website... IMHO it doesn't highlight the company or what they sell well at all. Mainly, it's not near as easy to get around, search, find, and navigate. Not an improvement as far as i'm concerned. Reminds me of Carvin's approach somewhat.
just a general observation relative to most of the sites I frequent. . . not a big deal really - I'm still on the site several times a week!
32" scale J bass (body/neck) is one item. Top or rear routed. http://twitpic.com/b5nzt We also recently completed chambered Explorer and Thunderbird bodies. Both should be up on the website soon. And there's more coming after that. We've still got narrow, medium and wide 5 Gecko necks. http://www.warmoth.com/Gecko/Gecko5Neck.aspx and 6 string necks. http://www.warmoth.com/Gecko/Gecko6Neck.aspx
The concerns you raise have been duly noted and discussed many times. Our next upgrade will address many of these concerns. One thing that has facinated me (in a geeky sort of way) is the current site uses the same skeletal structure as the much older site and even uses the *exact* same nav software yet navigation has been one of the major complaints. It, too, shall be revamped.
Damn! I'd kill for a 32" scale J to match my Warmoth. As for prototypes and new items, might I suggest Warmoth look into making a top routed Deluxe 5 J, and offering pickguards for same? This was the only thing that stopped me building one, and pushed me towards the RBV.
Woot, 32" scale, there isn't much available in that scale, at least not with good quality! I feel stupid, but I can't find the different width options for the 6, they are there for the 5 though.
