  1. why fender doesn't offer maple fretboards on standard models???!!!! :mad:

    i dont get it, squier offers standard strats in rosewood or maple, but fender cant even do that with their basses.

    I heard it is about cost. Maple fingerboards are more expensive.

    Strats are smaller.. pieces large enough for basses are probably harder to come by.


    Solution, cough up more dough and get a japanese fender :)

    I just checked at guitarjapan.com... They only have rosewood as well.

    Try Ishibashi. Email and see if there is a maple board version of the bass you want. Sometimes there's more available than is listed.
