The fretboard just kills me!! Awesome!

I have a Lefty USA JO 5 on order...maybe my fretboard will look like that!

Very very Nice. I usually don't like white but that one has class.
  6. Whatever you do, don't eat cheetos before you play that bass. :D

Very nice bass. That fretboard is awsome.
  7. Hah!

    It looks nice.

Personally, and this is not to detract from your new prize, but I really have grown quite tired of Bartolini pickups/preamps. Their sound... is just the antithesis of what I go for.

    Just a thought though.

Sweet sex on a stick man! That's the most beautiful Lakland I've ever seen.
  9. Gak! I want new things too!
Enjoy yours and let everyone know what you think of it when it gets to ya! :)

I've found that any problems that I have with a Bart/Bart setup is alleviated by simply plugging the bass into the passive input as opposed to the active input. Some people say that Barts are too 'polite.' I just think they don't need the active buffer. I never had any problems with overdriving the preamp, either--and I am not a light player by any stretch of the imagination.

    Beautiful bass!

thank you, all. i feel especially lucky to be getting it.

tytyty to bointc, whom i got it from.
if fedex doesn't 'lose' it or use it for a trampoline in transit, i'll be a happy man.
i'll be testing it at a gig a week from saturday. i'll give a review after that.
(pls. bear in mind i'm not an informed, experienced reviewer...)

I love laklands! ordering a skyline 55-02 deluxe soon!

That is really sweet just with the ash body. Fretboard is stunning also.

Incredible! This keeps reminding me how much I want every Lakland model. Specifically the 44-94, 55-94, 4 JO, 4 Jerry Scheff, and I guess I'll take some Darrels in all three colors.

    $ ... :(

When I bought it, I picked it up over a 55-02 Deluxe, and this thing KILLS, I'm sad to let it go, but I had to do extensive dental work, and my car is about to die out on me, the F Bass was just more "my sound" in my ears when I was trying out Ash/Maple basses, but this bass was way killer, everywhere I played it I got compliments, I'd like to get one similar to it, as well as other Laklands (DJ5/Glaub), sometime in the future when I'm less strapped for cash.
