I was recently looking at Laklands, specifically the Joe Osborne and the DJ Models. I played a Joe Osborne and it was amazing.

Recently however, I have heard alot of people praising 'J-retro' pups. I don't know ANYTHING about these.

What is the tonal advantage? (specifically, over the fralin's in the osborne or the Aero's in the DJ)
    Who makes them?
    What do they cost?

If some one could enlighten me or send me a link i would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

  2. J-retro pickups? As far as I know, the J-retro is the preamp in those basses. Supposed to be a drop-in for regular J basses, thought of pretty highly around here. Those basses sound great!
